I’ve been wanting to try a twist protective style for a long time now and picked up some Kanekalon Afro Braid hair at the beauty supply yesterday. I engaged THE John Washington of Innovatingconcepts to help me with the process. He was able to help me achieve this look on election night:
What was done? He braided the Kanekalon hair to my natural hair for about an inch or so and then twisted the rest to the ends. We then dipped the ends in boiling water for about 20 seconds since it wasn’t my hair anyway! LOL. This morning, for work, I tied up the twists and made this awesome updo style.
I’ll keep this for a couple of weeks. It’s very low maintenance. I can moisturize the braid hair–therefore moisturize my hair–and the best part of all, I don’t have to do much.
In other news, my family and friends are getting together to celebrate my birthday (yes, late) Friday night. Since my birthday was on Halloween, we decided to encourage people to dress up. Most likely, no one will…but I decided to. I will be sure to make a special post with party photos and my kinky twists hairdo for the night.
I am also excited that President Barack Obama was re-elected for a second term. I wish my grandma Peola was there to see this. She would have been up at 4:30 AM on election day making sure she got her vote…or better yet, I am sure she would have participated in early voting making sure she got her vote in. The last time I visited her, I noticed she had an Obama/Biden bumper sticker on her front door. She said that’s the first thing people were going to see when they visited her. She would be so excited. I am very excited. I just feel exhilarated that President Obama has another 4 years to continue on the path that we have embarked on. I was so excited, I kinda posted a lot of stuff on Facebook this morning:
Hopefully I didn’t upset anyone…but if I did…Oh well!
I love you guys and thank you again for catching up with me today. Let me know what you think of this style.
Talk to you soon!

Cute hair! I wish my dad was here to see Obama win his second term. Hhe would have been so happy to the “Prez”(Thats wat he called him) win a second term. I have an older friend who got her degree last summer and I swear she says the same thing. So many of us are so happy!
