It’s always exciting to learn about different natural hair meetups in the area, especially ones that were created by someone who has successfully put together meetups in the past. When getting information regarding this meetup, I was excited to see that Amanda of Uzuri Styles & Textures was putting something special together and I just had to go and try the food at the location where the meetup was held.
This morning, my best natural buddy Chawana and headed to the French Press for The For the Love of My Natural Brunch & Meetup. We were excited to be in the company of fellow naturals to not only socialize, but to engage in learning about caring for our natural hair and to lift each other up by acknowledging the diversity of our own beauty.
Of course, every event that I attend I share with you guys. I will be posting some pictures from the event. If you are in the area and looking for an awesome and knowledgeable natural hair stylist, I recommend that you call Amanda at Uzuri Styles & Textures at 300 Thorton St, Suite C in Lafayette, LA. 337-501-4166.
Amanda, her sister Paisley and their beautiful mother put together an awesome event. The food was awesome, the fellowship was awesome and after the event, I remembered why I loved natural hair and natural hair unity so much.
Chawana told me on the way back that we as black women are quick to not support each other or put each other down. This event was a way to support a sista and also support all the sistas at the event by admiration of each others natural beauty.

And by the way, the food at The French Press was amazing. If I were a restaurant reviewer, I’d give them the largest score imaginable. I will return. Click Here to be taken to the website of the French Press restaurant.
Until Next Time…
